The Black Business Student Association's 7th Annual Diversity Conference will be held on Friday April 17th in Cornell Hall from 8:30am to 2pm.
Our theme this year is "Diversity within Diversity", because this year we are trying to promote diversity as being something that is more than just race or sex based, since we feel that is what most people think of when they think of the word "diversity". During the conference, we will be covering several other topics as well which include but are not limited to gender, sexual orientation, English as a second language, age and disability.
We will do this by involving our participants in workshops and case studies that will be led by several different student organizations within the College of Business that will be paired with different sponsoring companies. Each of these break out sessions are scheduled to last about 50 minutes.
After our break out sessions, the participants will have lunch in the Reynold’s Alumni Center where they will also hear a message from our keynote speaker Norma Clayton from the Boeing Company as well as hear from our diversity panel, which will include employees from our participating companies as well as individuals from our own campus.
We know that Diversity is something that is really important in the college of business and we are working very heard to put on the best conference that BBSA has ever had.

BBSA Corporate Trip to ATL!!!
Where are you taking us and why?
On Thursday, March 5th, we will be traveling to Atlanta, Georgia to visit the headquarters of Chick-fil-A and Macy's. During the Friday company visits, participants will have the opportunity to network with current professionals and position themselves for a potential career or internship with one of our host companies. Planned social events include dinner and activities at ESPN Zone, tours of the CNN Center and the World of Coca-Cola, a visit to Lenox Square Mall, and the Atlanta Hawks v. Detroit Pistons NBA game. We will return on Sunday, March 8th.
Sounds fun. How much is it?
Tickets are $200 and will go on sale in February.
Wait, two-hundred what?
This is actually a pretty good deal. Keep in mind that this cost gets you:

-The opportunity to network with professionals (in Atlanta, even!)
-The potential to land a job or internship at a well-known company
-Tickets to the aforementioned social events
-The chance to make new friends with BBSA people you haven't met yet
Okay. Can we student charge it?
Yes, you can!
